Steve Saunders has more than 31 years experience working to improve the energy efficiency, environmental and comfort performance of new and existing buildings. In the last 45 years, Tempo has installed and commissioned more than 260,000 HVAC Systems. TexEnergy (texenergy.org) has certified more than 110 million sq. ft. of single family homes as energy efficient or environmentally friendly. US-EcoLogic (usecologic.com) has certified or has certification projects in process for more than 30 million sq. ft. of multifamily– including almost one million square feet in the Middle East. The organization has unique experience in real world applications at the intersection of “green”, “energy efficiency” and “HVAC”.
Eric Johnson is the Executive Vice President and has twenty years of management and sales experience in Iowa, Washington D.C., and Texas. He manages the Single Family Division in Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio as well as the International efforts that are based in the United Arab Emirates. He is the current chair of the Tempo Employee Stock Option Plan Committee. He co-authored a paper on the Cost and Stringency Comparisons of NGBS and LEED in 2013 that was published by the Home Innovations Laboratory. He graduated from Webster University with a B.A. in Political Science. Eric joined US EcoLogic in 2012 and is based in our Dallas office.
Aaron Gary is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Tempo Partners which includes Tempo Mechanical, Tempo Service, US-EcoLogic, TexEnergy Solutions and QuFresh. He works on the regional and national levels for the development of green building protocols, including LEED for Homes, the National Green Building Standard (NGBS), and Green Built Texas, as well as for the responsible adoption of new energy efficiency standards, such as ENERGY STAR and the 2015 IECC and has twice been recognized as an NGBS Green Partner of Excellence in 2015 and 2016. Aaron currently serves, or has served, on several industry committees including, ASHRAE T-STDS-SSPC 90.2 Project Committee, the ICC Sustainability Membership Council, the NGBS 2018 Consensus Committee, NGBS Task Group 5 (Energy Efficiency) for NGBS 2015 and 2018 development cycles, the NGBS Verifier Advisory Panel, and the North Texas Council of Governments – Energy and Green Advisory Board. Aaron is a RESNET-credentialed Quality Assurance Designee and a Rater Trainer as well as a ICC Commercial and Residential Energy Code Inspector and Plans Examiner. He is also certified as a LEED Accredited Professional for Homes and BD&C, LEED for Homes QAD, LEED for Homes Green Rater and a National Green Building Standard Verifier. He holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a graduate degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech.
Jerold has over 30 years in the HVAC industry including six years’ experience with a Public Utility Company. He has a BBA Marketing degree from Texas Tech University. His focus has been in the residential and commercial market for energy audits and energy upgrades since 2005. Jerold has been recently involved in comprehensive multiple multi-family projects including major retrofits for both tenant based Section 8 projects and site based low income projects. He evaluates and recommends energy upgrades and oversees the installation.
Josh Newman is the General Manager of our Single-Family Division and has been with TexEnergy since 2011. Josh has been in the Energy/Green Building industry for the last 15 years working on Single-Family residential, Multi-Family residential, and light commercial projects. Through on the ground experience, he has gained an extensive understanding of the construction industry as it pertains to green and sustainable building practices. Josh holds several inspections and building science certifications and continues to increase his knowledge base in building science and sustainable building practices. Josh also spent 14 months in Saudi Arabia performing LEED for Homes inspections for the KAPSARC Project, which became the 1st LEED for Homes project to be certified outside of North America.
Robert Pegues joined the TexEnergy | Us-EcoLogic team in 2015 and holds the position of Senior Project Manager as well as Quality Assurance Manager for our Single Family Division. Through his time with the company, he has gained many credentials such as the LEED for Homes Quality Assurance Designee, LEED Green Rater, National Green Building Standards (NGBS) Green Verifier, HERS Quality Assurance Designee, RESNET Rater Trainer, HERS Rater, and IECC Residential Inspector & plans examiner. Robert has also had an active role in development and advisement of the LEED for Homes version 4 protocol, Energy Star 3.1 protocol, and 2018 IECC through North Texas Council of Governments Energy and Green Advisory Board.
Ross joined US EcoLogic in 2011 after serving as an executive for a national HVAC contracting firm for 25 years. He attended the University of Cincinnati and currently resides in Austin, TX. He serves on the Austin HBA Board of Directors and is the incoming Chairman of Skillpoint Alliance.
Michael Kelly is a Single-Family Project Manager for TexEnergy Solutions and has been with the company since 2015. Michael graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Media Communications and a minor in Marketing. With a demonstrated history of knowledge and understanding in Green building science, he contributes a significant amount of field experience to the project management team. With his hands-on approach to handling client relations, Michael has quickly risen through the ranks of the TexEnergy management team. Michael is certified as an IECC residential and Multifamily rater, HERS Rater, LEED Green Rater, and a Green Associate.
Christy Beller is a Single-Family Project Manager for TexEnergy Solutions. She joined the TexEnergy team in 2017. Christy has over 10 years of experience in various areas of project management, specializing in data collection and evidence based reporting. Christy brings experience, enthusiasm, and exceptional client-customer service to our team.
Jeff Slaugh comes from the banking and investments industry to bring experience in regulation compliance to the world of green-building, program compliance. A former BBVA Compass Bank Vice President and Merrill Lynch Advisor, he has taken on over 5 million square feet of U.S.-Eco Logic certification projects in LEED for Homes and NGBS protocols in the Denver and Mountain region. Jeff has an MBA from the University of Colorado and is a Hers Rater, LEED Green Rater, NGBS Verifier. His regional responsibilities include Colorado, Arizona and California.
Marie Nisson is a multifamily project manager based out of the Rockville, MD office. She graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and earned an MBA at The University of Texas in Austin. Marie joined US-Eco Logic in October 2012 after 12 years in manufacturing and sales at Owens Corning, the Toledo, OH based leader in building materials and innovation.
Jeremy Velasquez graduated in 2006 from the University of Texas @ Arlington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. After working as an intern architect at MAA and PBK for approximately 5 years, he joined US ECO-Logic in 2011. After working in the engineering department, he transitioned over to serve as a Multi-family Project Manager. He is dedicated to his craft of assisting design teams build sustainable and efficient buildings.
Erin Bordelon is a multifamily project manager based out of the Irving, TX office. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX with a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs and Psychology. Erin joined the firm in November 2011 after 5 years at RTKL Associates Inc., an international architecture and planning firm in Dallas. She is the Education and Events Chair for the USGBC North Texas chapter.
Miranda Hardin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a minor in Sociology, and a certificate in Business Foundations from the McCombs School of Business. She joined the company in June 2013 and is the Single Family Project Manager for Central, South, and the Gulf Coast of Texas based in Austin.
Troy Maharg is the manager of our engineering and operations departments and has over 10 years experience in the energy and HVAC field. Troy joined the company in May of 2006 after managing the engineering department for a local HVAC company. He holds many certifications throughout the country and oversees all energy modeling for our single and multi-family departments.
