AUSTIN ENERGY GREEN BUILDING

Austin Energy Green Building

Starting with a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, Austin Energy Green Building developed the first residential rating system in 1991. In 1995, a checklist for commercial buildings was developed and in 1998 the multifamily green building rating tool was added. As Austin and the surrounding community grows, AEGB continues to raise the standards for energy efficiency, water quality and conservation, indoor environmental quality, material resources, and site development. AEGB addresses environmental, community, health, and economic issues specific to the Central Texas region. They recognize we are all part of a global ecosystem and choices we make close to home have impact across the entire planet.

US-EcoLogic has participated with the AEGB rating process on multiple projects ranging from 3-story garden-style buildings up to a 45-story tower over the last decade. Because of the items required by the AEGB rating system, we have found that projects can easily integrate it with other programs like the National Green Building Standard, LEED and ENERGY STAR.

US-EcoLogic is a one-stop shop that can provide all of the services required to help take a project from inception to completion. Our services include: design consulting, energy modeling, required performance testing, and system Commissioning. In addition to our corporate office in Irving, US-EcoLogic has Project Managers and Field Technicians living in the Austin area to ensure inspections and testing can be scheduled with ease.
